jadube
I have locmai running on my home computer (winxp). I tried to install it on 2 PCs (vista) which belong to a school where I coach. The install on these 2 pcs went ok, but when I ran LOCMAI I got an error message that said something about 'Gemx Ebook Reader'. I looked for a 'gemx' program on these 2 PCs but there was none. Now I see (at gemx.com) that gemx might be part of Texnotes...so I'll look for that and uninstall it if I can. UPDATE Mar23,2012: I looked for Gemx and Texnotes but did not see them in 'add/remove programs" I tried using LOCMAI again and got an error box which said "unable to set data for ' ' ", I pressed OK and LOCMAI appears (but does not function) plus an error box "access violation at address 007626E6 in module locmai" Still hoping to get LOCMAI working! Do you have any troubleshooting ideas? thanks Edited March 24, 2012 by jadube
Javier
Hi. Locmai doesn't really install anything on your computer. It's a self executable program. All it does is copy the .exe file in the chess directory. I've seen Windows Vista causing some prolems sometimes, but they're easy to solve: right click on the locmai icon (within your file structure) and then choose "properties" and then change things like "compatibility", "previous versions" or if that fails, in the advanced options tab, choose "run as admin". The program should then work just fine! Regards.
