Maybe that's why younger players are not particularly fond of endgames! Although I know the solution to this great endgame composition, it still makes me smile every time I see it. It could happen so easily in a game of ours! "White faces a rather difficult endgame, but with a couple of accurate moves, he was able to clear any doubts about whether he'd be able to draw the game or not." Actually, that's what I would have said if this had been a real game! To his credit, Lolli composed this back in 1763, nearly 250 years ago, in a very different planet...
