Javier
Very sad news. GM Bent Larsen has passed away. Born in Denmark, he was one of the strongest "independent thinkers" that has ever lived. By this I mean that he didn't follow the trends, he had his own opinion about any position. He never played the openings mechanically or even systematically. In fact, his creativity in the openings produced the Larsen opening, 1.b3, a highly respected system. He was one of the strongest players in the world in the seventies. Here are two victories of his against Karpov. Both with the black pieces.
