WORLD CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

FIDE World Chess Championship Match

MOSCOW, STATE TRETYAKOV GALLERY,

MAY 10 — MAY 31, 2012

The first game is over. A very disappointing dull draw in 24 moves.

Few expected Anand to play 1.d4 (mainly because he's far more dangerous as a King Pawn player). Gelfand had no trouble whatsoever getting equality out of the opening.

White: Anand

Black: Gelfand

If Anand hopes to win this match, he's gonna have to play 1.e4, trust me. ;)
