Sir, Recently I played Bird's opening as white against a higher rated opponent in a correpondence game. He played Froms gambit and i took it and got crushed. Later, I got a chance to play against Birds opening as black against a lower rated player I had just beaten. I tried Froms gambit for the first time and got crushed. Could you give the basic concepts behind the Froms gambit. John
